Weekend of 08-10-12

This was definitely one of the highlights for me in 2012. Such greatness, such excellence. Usain Bolt has nothing on this guy. False. The Olympics were great, back to reality. I need a beer.
Capital Cities – Nothing Compares 2 U - Oh, Sinead would be proud. Capital Cities latest track pulls out a cover of this 90′s smash. About what you’d expect – electro hipster, like Phoenix, and it’s great.
Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen –  Ellie Goulding is so legit. Soft spoken, Avril Levine clone and she drops the best electronic music of 2012. This is her newest jam, and it’s awesome. Remember – anything could happen (shut up Wyclef).
Charli XCX – Stay Away - Yup – this came up on my Songza playlist the other day. It’s like Leona Lewis on heroin – so f’ing awesome. Dark and stormy. Makes me want to quit my job. Oh wait – I don’t have one.
Divine Fits – Would That Not Be Nice –  Solid track – rough around the edges with an overdrive vocal line that fits perfects. Get it?
Ozzy Ozborne – Mama, I’m Coming Home –  Yep, this is one of my all time favorites. There’s nothing that touches my soul more than a drug infused degenerate rock god that sings about being at the bottom. Throw in a few epic power chords and guitar solos and I feel safe, like being in your house during a thunderstorm. So glad I wore all black today.
